Award-Winning One-on-One Comedy Tuition

Can you see yourself as a comedy writer or performer? I’ll show you how it can be done.

(NB: I will only be accepting new students until December 31st. If you miss the slot, please sign up to my newsletter to be informed when I am taking on new students again)

** Christmas Special Offer – Know someone who should get into comedy? Why not get them a special-rate session of comedy tuition? Details at the bottom of the page. **

There are lots of great comedy courses out there (I even teach a few myself) but I specialise in one-to-one tuition to selected students, so that they will receive bespoke instruction to help them achieve their goals in comedy. Whether you want to go into standup, sketch writing, sitcom writing , character comedy or improv, I can help you take your first steps on the road to making it a full-time career.

“Natt is not just a brilliant exponent of the art of being funny, he is one of the best teachers I have ever had in any subject: patient, vastly knowledgeable and genuinely interested in what I was trying to say. Natt took my ideas and helped mold them into something funny and performable. Then he taught me the skills I needed to stand up on stage and do it for real.” Nick Wallis, Caught On Camera

I’ve taught all sorts of people, from CEOs looking to inject some humour into their presentations to musical comedians who are looking for ways to fill those awkward gaps between songs to BBC presenters who are having to learn stand up for Comic Relief!

My students have gone on to be shortlisted for awards like the Gilded Balloon New Act Of The Year, the Musical Comedy Awards, and a BBC sitcom writing competition. Some have gone on to develop full acts, which they are now performing at the Edinburgh Festival. I have coached people through their first gigs, their opening lines and through their first sitcom scripts.

Because this bespoke teaching is intensive and tailored to you, it gets real results, and all of my students achieve the goals we set out for them at the start. It also means, however, that there is a limit to the number of students I can take on, and I will take on no more than 5 during the current open period.

“To get comedy right, you need some funny lines, performance skills and confidence. Natt taught me all that in a such a good-natured way, the process itself became a joy and one I would recommend to everyone – even if you never have any intention of stepping on stage yourself!” – Nick Wallis, Criminals: Caught On Camera

But I live too far away! No problem. I am now running email courses in sketch writing, and am offering a correspondence course, with email exercises for you to practise. If you’d like to start writing for sketch shows, here’s an ideal place to start!

If you’re interested in what you’ll be learning or in FREE THINGS, here is my popular article Gag Writing For Fun And Profit (Maybe) as a taster.

No matter whether you want to get into comedy writing or performing, develop a current act, or just learn to write and speak with more humour, I’ll design a course around you.

For more information email me, letting me know what your interests are. Thanks, and I look forward to working with you soon.
