In The Gloaming Live! At The Brighton Fringe Festival

Award-winning local comedian weaves a spooky and hilarious spell on Friday the 13th!

3rd May, 2011, Redhill, SURREY – A local comedian, Nathaniel Tapley, is giving a haunting one-night-only performance at the Brighton Fringe Festival on Friday the 13th May. The award-winning comic has put together a show that combines the ghosts and ghouls of local history with a number of outrageous characters, for a one-off Friday 13th spectacular..

“It’s a show that really pokes around into Brighton’s dark and unexplored crevices,” he said. “You won’t know whether to scream with laughter or terror. Or because of the ticket prices.”

The show will showcase a number of the characters Mr Tapley has developed on stage and on screen, in television programmes like Dick & Dom’s Funny Business and Tonightly. He has also written for The News Quiz on Radio 4, and Gigglebiz on CBeebies. He was a finalist in this year’s Hackney Empire New Act of The Year, and this is his first hour-long solo show.

The In The Gloaming podcasts, on which the show is based, and which Mr Tapley writes and directs won the Parsec Award for Best New Podcaster last year, and have been nominated for more awards this year. Their combination of spooky stories and hilarious dark comedy have captivated thousands of listeners across the globe.

Mr Tapley said: “We’ll have a riotous mix of ghosts, grotesques and gargoyles. And a healthy dose of rude jokes. If even some of the recently dead can make it to the show, there’s no reason why you can’t.”
